Guided sunset hike to Hochalpsee

From the Hochtannberg Pass, we will hike together uphill to the Widderstein Hut and further to the Hochalppass. Once at the top, a tranquil moment awaits us at the Hochalpsee – accompanied by the last rays of sunshine of the day and a very special evening atmosphere in the Alps. For the return journey, we’ll put on our headlamps and set off back to the Hochtannberg Pass in the beginning dusk. A simple yet impressive tour for all who wish to experience the magic of the mountains in the evening calm.

A picturesque landscape with blooming plants in the foreground and majestic mountains in the background. The sky is partly cloudy, creating a tranquil atmosphere.

We start our mountain tour in Lechleiten at around 1,500 m and follow the hiking trail uphill over green fields and blooming meadows. Soon, the path becomes narrower and winds in serpentine curves through dense larch trees towards the summit. Above the tree line, a wide hollow opens up with a breathtaking panoramic view – a true postcard motif. The trail continues through impressive rocky terrain, which is partially secured with steel cables. Short climbing sections require sure-footedness, concentration, and a head for heights, but are rewarded with unique views. Upon reaching the ridge, the distinctive summit cross comes into sight and is reached within a few minutes. At the top, we enjoy the wide view and the incomparable feeling of summit happiness before descending back to Lechleiten along the same path.

Trail Running Introductory Course - The breathtaking sports experience
A picturesque mountain landscape with blooming white flowers in the foreground. In the background, majestic peaks rise under a clear blue sky.

We start in Schröcken-Heimboden. First, we follow the path to the Fellealpe and continue hiking up a narrow trail. After about 1.5 hours, we reach the fork in the path and head towards Fürggele. From the rock entrance, we stow away our hiking sticks – now both hands are needed. Over secured passages and loose rocks, we reach the summit cross of the Braunarlspitze. The view over the Bregenzerwald is breathtaking. The descent takes us to the turquoise Butzensee, framed by the Mohnenfluh summit. We return via the Jägersteig to the Fellealpe and continue back to the starting point.

Guided Mountain Tour Widderstein 2,533 m

Our mountain tour begins at the Hochtannberg Pass at 1,676 m – ahead of us are approximately 857 meters of elevation gain. The path leads through blooming alpine meadows, past wildflowers and fragrant mountain herbs, towards the Widderstein Hut. Just before we reach it, we turn left and soon enter the rocky terrain. From here, we follow the markings directly on the rock. Some short, well-secured climbing sections require surefootedness and concentration before we reach the ridge. The final stretch is partly exposed, but after a few minutes, we stand at the summit cross – rewarded with an impressive panorama and the tranquility of the mountain. After an extended break at the summit, we begin our descent. Depending on our mood and fitness, we either take the same path back or enjoy the round trip over the Hochalppass back to the Hochtannberg Pass.
