The Braunarl (2649m), the highest mountain in Bregenzerwald and our ‘landmark’ Widderstein (2533m) along with the Biberkopf (2599m) are just three of the impressive mountains around Warth-Schröcken.
There is a variety-packed programme each week, with guided hikes and mountain tours to our mountain classics. For anyone who likes to be accompanied while hiking, heading out with our experienced hiking and mountain guides on guided tours is just the ticket, and in so doing, they will also get plenty of insider tips about the region and stay safe.
Experience the classic mountains around Warth-Schröcken, head out in the footsteps of the Walser and enjoy the wonderful colours during a sunrise or sunset tour. And who knows, you might even come across a few ibex or Edelweiss?

The moment when the sun slowly disappears behind the mountain summits and the day gradually fades, is a particularly impressive experience. Sunset wraps the summits in a different light with every moment that passes.

In the footsteps of the Walser on the Tannberg.
Head out in the footsteps of the Walser on the Tannberg and dive into the exciting history of the settlement of Warth, Schröcken and Lech! Warth-Schröcken and Lech bring together a shared history of being settled by the Walser from the canton of Valais. The Themed trail tells the story of the life and work of the Walsers on the Tannberg at 57 stations, and includes "wood witnesses".
Biberkopf mountain tour 2599 m.
Guided mountain tour to the southernmost summit in Germany, the Biberkopf at 2599 m altitude. Challenging tour, since some climbing experience, a head for heights and sure-footedness are required.
Widderstein mountain tour 2533 m.
Located directly on the Hochtannbergpass is the Große Widderstein, which is easily accessible from both Warth and Schröcken. This is a moderately difficult tour, with sure-footedness required for some gravelly sections. Wonderful views at the summit!
Rote Wand mountain tour 2704 m.
The Rote Wand is the second highest summit in the Lechquellen mountains and gets its name from the reddish lias limestone that is embedded in the rocks. The turquoise-coloured waters of Formarinsee are at the bottom of it. This tour is only advised for experienced mountaineers!
Braunarlspitze mountain tour 2649 m.
The most impressive summit of the lower Bregenzerwald area awaits experienced climbers, including some exposed sections. The long ascent from Schröcken requires a good level of fitness! The cool waters of Butzensee on the south side of the Braunarlspitze provide refreshment.
Zitterklapfen mountain tour 2403 m.
The guided tour to the Zitterklapfen is a superlative ridge hike. The 2 kilometre ridge has some exposed sections and the ascent is often snow-covered. The views across the Lechquellen mountains are magnificent!
