West Ridge – For the experienced.

Those looking for an extra challenge will find it on the West Ridge. This section was extended by 600 metres in 2009 and only begins at the summit of the Karhorn. The West Ridge has a higher difficulty rating of C/D , which is particularly appealing to experienced via ferrata climbers. Sure-footedness and a head for heights are essential here, as the route leads over exposed, airy ridges.

The descent is via a long rock slab secured by a rope, and from there the route leads down the southern slope of the Karhorn, back to the Wartherhorn Saddle.
