Jennifer Romanowski

Jenny Romanowski is the founder of Freilaufzeit and the driving force behind ALPENCAMP. With many years of experience in trail running and alpine training, she combines sporting expertise with an authentic, human coaching approach.

Her focus is on sustainable development, enjoyment of movement, and training design that challenges without overwhelming. With her motivating style, she creates an environment in which women feel comfortable, grow, and share special experiences together.

In addition to her work as a coach, Jennifer Romanowski is an ultra trail runner and the mother of a child with a severe heart condition. She founded Heartbeat Ultra (heartbeat-ultra.de) to raise funds through a special charity run for children with so-called “Fontan hearts” (children with only one functioning heart ventricle), and to raise awareness of the situations faced by affected families. More about Jenny’s heartfelt project and the people behind it is shared in a moving article by the Fuldaer Zeitung about the young Thore.

Programme & content.

The ALPENCAMP WOMEN ONLY combines sporting challenge, alpine experiences, and valuable input on training, health, and recovery. The focus is on guided trail runs in alpine terrain, where uphill and downhill technique, pole use, line choice, sure-footedness, and efficient movement across varied terrain are trained. The programme is complemented by a long run and – weather dependent – a sunrise run.

Performance is not the priority; instead, the focus is on the shared experience in the mountains. There is plenty of time for breaks, viewpoints, hut stops, photos, and special moments in nature. No competition. No time pressure. No performance pressure.

Another highlight of the camp is a guided via ferrata. Participants receive an introduction to belaying and via ferrata technique, gain experience in exposed terrain, and strengthen their technique, safety, and mental resilience. All via ferrata equipment is provided.

Yoga, mobility, and recovery sessions ensure the necessary balance. After intensive days in the mountains, active recovery, the spa area of the Berghaus, and Reboots recovery systems are available for testing and regeneration.

The sporting programme is complemented by practical talks and input specifically for women. Topics such as cycle-based training, nutrition in endurance sports, mental health, and stress management provide valuable insights for both training and everyday life.

During the camp, participants also have the opportunity to test high-quality equipment from various partners, including trail running shoes from 361°, running vests from Salomon, LEKI trail running poles, Maurten sports nutrition, Reboots recovery systems, and via ferrata equipment from DeinGipfel.

The camp is rounded off with professional photos as a memento of the shared adventure, a goodie bag for each participant, and attractive vouchers and discount codes from partners.
